Surfside Beach, TX
Hurricanes, tropical storms and just the normal everyday processes of the Gulf of Mexico have wreaked considerable erosion on Texas beaches. The owner of the blue house built a bulkhead to keep the water from undermining his beach house. It's probably illegal, since it's technically on the public right-of-way, but I don't know the details of how he got the permit.
