An old car dealership in downtown Freeport that was vacated long ago by the auto industry is now occupied by the creator of the "Bat-Wing" mower, who lives inside. According to local lore, he is a former employee of Dow. Sometimes you can see him driving a truck around the various towns of Brazosport that is, shall we say, colorfully festooned with advertisements for the legendary "Bat-Wing" mower.
